What came first – the chicken or the egg? Difficult question, but it is a good analogy with the movie “Predestination“.
No plot twists are going to be discussed on this movie night post, only the premise of the movie.
Time travel movies are never easy to understand, especially if you consider all of the paradox questions and scenarios. Can I change the past? What will happen if I make a change in my past? This movie was very confusing up until the end, even though the outcome can be guessed at the middle part.
It starts off simple. There is a time travel agency that prevents terrorist attacks by going back in time. There is an elusive terrorist on the loose and they have had a hard time catching him. We meet one of agents who goes back in time on his final mission to catch the killer. We see the agent working in a bar undercover. He starts talking to a stranger there.. This is the point when things go off the rails. The story told by the stranger, the truth behind the time travel. Everything does not make sense.. Or does it?
If you like mind bending movies, I would definitely suggest watching this one. Maybe you will be able to answers the question about the chicken and the egg.
